The Maoists’ parties, Unified Maoists led by Pushpa Kamal and Nepal Communist Party-Maoist led by Mohan Baidya have decided to jointly call for a nation-wide closure January 22, 2015.

Birds of same feather must flock together.

Earlier Baidya Maoist had called for a closure January 17 demanding immediate dissolution of the Constituent Assembly and the Unified Maoists party led opposition alliance had called another closure January 19, which both the parties have decided to withdraw after the meeting and decided to jointly call for a nation-wide closure January 20, 2015-Magh 6.

Interestingly, the Unified Maoists Party led opposition alliance had called for the closure demanding constitution through consensus.

The combined slogan of the opposition alliance that also includes Baidya led Maoist party for the closure is defending national sovereignty, unity for institutionalizing revolutionary changes and for forward looking changes in the country.

Pushpa Kamal accompanied by Baburam and Narayan Kaji held a meeting with Chairman Baidya at a banquet in Kathmandu where the decision was made. Baidya was accompanied by Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal.’
