The leaders of major three political parties, Nepali Congress, United Marxist Leninist and Unified Maoists have concluded that killing of seven police men in Tikapur on Monda cannot be taken as a political incident. The three-party leadership as also advised the government to take needed steps to provide adequate security to the general public. The leaders had met at the Constituent Assembly premises late evening on Monday.

The political leadership has also urged the population to exhibit restraint behaviour and do not make any provocative remarks targeting any community as such.

Earelir the parliamentary delegation meeting of ruling Nepali Congress and central committee meeting of United Marxist Lenninist were held separately at the CA premises. Both the parties termed the incident as being sponsored but did not point figure as any force as such.

The Nepali Congress Vice President Ram Chandra Poudel told reporters after the meeting that the party’s parliamentary delegation has deplored the incident.

The UML Chief Whip Agni Kharel claimed that the party has demanded immediate probe into the sad incident.

The leaders of three major parties are to hold another round of meeting early hours on Tuesday to take stock of the situation prevailing in Tikapur.
