The Nepal Communist Party-Maoists headed by Mohan Baidya held a press-meet at the party headquarters in Kathmandu, Thursday to make public the decisions of the three day long central committee meeting of the party. It had been reported earlier that Baidya had proposed to revive the ‘Jana Karbahi’ – the vigilant justice system also known as direct peoples’ action in the grass root, in the first day of the meeting.
He said at the press meet, “We will reunite with the forces with which we waged the peoples’ revolt together. However, first the Unified Maoist must quit the Constituent Assembly.”
He added, “In case of delay in the reunification we will forge an alliance.”
“There will be no constitution. The Unified Maoists must join the streets. They must know that they will be left alone in the streets if they continue to be in the CA”.
“Prachanda ji must understand that the existing CA will not help us fulfill our objectives. Thus, there is no point in continuing to be in the CA.”
The press note issued by the party general secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa Badal also appeals for broader unity with the real communists.
Reel Communists of Nepal!
The reunification strategy has come following split of Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’ led panel from the mother party.
