Nepal is like between two stones yams.  That is why Nepal has been adopting the policy of equal distance.

Narendra Modi's government is in India.  The Modi government does not want to resolve the border problem between Nepal and India, the Nepal government is also not negotiating with India.

On the other hand, in China, President Xi Jinping has been given responsibility for the third five-year term.

The foreign policy of both India and China is unlikely to change.

India is silent about this after US entered Nepal with MCC project.  China is certain to continue its current foreign policy.  China's economic and military competition with the West will increase.  This may include Chinese invasion of Taiwan.  Nepal does not even have the capacity to expect continued economic access from India, China and the West.

He is our guest to discuss how Nepal can prepare for a capable government about its relations with China and India and relations with the West.  Border scholar Buddhinarayan Shrestha.

 1.  India has an open border of 1850 km.  There are border disputes in 77 places.  Lipulek, Limpiyadhura and Kalapani have crossed their map on Nov 2, 2019.  How can Nepali territory be safe?  Is Nepal on the way to Fiji?

 2.  1414 km border with China.  The previous government said that there has been no border dispute with China since the 1960s.  Chinese Embassy spokesperson Luan Xiutan also said the same.  But Deuba's government says - China destroyed Nepali land in Humla.  Is it possible that the government has crossed the border in Hachuwa?

 3.  Congress leader Bimalendra Nidhi, leader of Karnali province and Congress central member Jeevan Bahadur Shahi say that China has erased the border by uprooting six places, including Namkha Rural Municipality 5 Chimlavhanjyang, No. 11 in Limi.  In the Congress leader's report, China has encroached on Nepali land and built physical structures in Lalungjong, nearly 2 km of road built by Nepal from Gappudocha has been encroached by China, a new one has been built in Lapcha Bhanjang, the 'alignment' of border post No. 12 has been completely changed, border post No. 9 (2) in Hilsa  It is alleged that fences and gates have been built on the center line, the border posts of Pillar No. 5 (1) and 5 (2) have been fenced and kept in their area, and the texture and script of the newly constructed and old border posts are also different. Is this a Nepal-China 'border dispute'?  Is it a sign of burning?  Assistant Prajia Dattaraj Hamal also said that the limit had been crossed.  What is the reality?

 4.  The team formed by the government studied the 5th and 6th wards of Namkha in Humla, what report did they give?  Even in the Congress Working Committee, after the report of China's border crossing in the Lalungzong area was presented, Ambassador Hou Yanchi denied it.  What could be the truth?

 5.  The Everest dispute ended on November 23, 2077 after both countries settled it.  Later, the controversy that China dug 6 hectares of land and buried pillar number 57 in Korlang-Tippa of Lapchi village north of Dolakha Lamabagar has deepened.  Did China intentionally cross the border?

 6.  Nepal-China border relationship: border supervision in 1960, treaty in October 1961, Nepal-China boundary protocol in 1962 (the border problem was resolved according to the border charter).

 7.  Last April, the former Chinese ambassador to Nepal, Hou Yanchi, said that 'Nepal should become an exhibition garden' for the activities of other countries.  Saying this, what is China's relationship with Nepal?

 8.  China has taken the right to develop and operate the China-Nepal Friendship Industrial Park in Jhapa-5 for 40 years.  Locals have complained that the land compensation is not enough.  If China respects Nepali sovereignty, why did China have to keep Nepali land for so long?

 9.  How concerned are you that China respects Nepal's sovereignty as a trading partner?  After the earthquake, the border crossings have not yet been opened, Nepali traders are drowning.  Some goods are left behind, only to come to Nepal.  The overland route to the Chinese market is blocked for Nepali exporters.  Since Nepal-China transit-transport agreement was signed 6 years ago, not a single cargo has arrived to Nepal from four Chinese ports.  Doesn't China's control over trade and Nepal's market access reflect an unbalanced trade relationship?

Is Nepal at risk of falling into China's debt trap, which can sacrifice Nepali sovereignty, as happened in Sri Lanka?

 10.  What is your opinion about the Chinese government's access to Nepali officials and journalists and the Chinese government's extensive access through Confucius Institutes (educational and cultural etc. promotion programs), cultural centers, etc.?

 11.  Can China respect Nepal's rich demographic tapestry, which is a key element as a nation?  Why does China want to oppress Tibetan refugees in Nepal?
