WASHINGTON, DC – Elon Musk has announced a return to an intensive work schedule, committing to spending nearly all his time overseeing X and Tesla. The tech billionaire’s renewed focus aims to address pressing operational challenges and mounting investor concerns, particularly regarding declining Tesla sales, and marks a significant reduction in his political involvement.

While he had previously indicated he would cut time on government duties, he now appears to be stepping away from politics entirely. Some media reports say he has lost the ear of the White House and DOGE was loud and lost the Trump administration public good will even before the 100 day honeymoon period of any new incumbent to the presidency.

This commitment follows a turbulent week for Musk’s digital empire. On May 24, X experienced a major global outage, with Musk acknowledging “major operational improvements” were urgently needed and that failover systems “should have worked, but did not.”

Musk publicly declared on X “Back to spending 24/7 at work and sleeping in conference/server/factory rooms.” He emphasized the critical nature of his current ventures, adding, “I must be super focused on X/xAI and Tesla (plus Starship launch next week), as we have critical technologies rolling out.”

Musk has faced reduced Tesla sales in the U.S. and Europe amid mounting protests related to his political backing of Donald Trump.
