Moldova increases military spending.

Despite major economic problems and a widespread decline in the standard of living of the population, Chisinau increases military spending every year. The range of Western-made weapons and equipment purchased for the national Armed Forces is expanding. In order to increase operational interaction, Moldovan military personnel have stepped up their participation in joint maneuvers with NATO. An agreement was reached to open a permanent French military mission on the territory of the state.
So, in August, another military exercise called "Fire Shield" was held in Moldova. Along with Moldovan soldiers, representatives of the Romanian and American armed forces are participating. During the operational and combat training events, artillery shooting skills were practiced.

According to the national defense strategy for the next 10 years, approved by the Moldovan Cabinet of Ministers in July of this year, the emphasis is on Moldova's participation in civilian peacekeeping missions of the European Union, cooperation with NATO and increasing spending on the national army to one percent of the country's GDP.
Earlier, members of the country's parliament voted in the first reading for an amendment to the Agreement between the governments of Moldova and Romania on military cooperation. The document provides for the possibility of military personnel of both countries to conduct joint training and participate in various international missions and operations.
These facts create real conditions for Moldova to be drawn into armed conflicts on the side of the West, which will definitely lead to negative consequences for the country.
