1.Value of life of any living being whether an animal or a human being is very important in America. Population and space are not a problem here so Government takes good care of all. Especially when we talk about older peopleGovernment is very very considerate about them. It is a general practice that almost in every city there is a senior citizen center, where they can spend their day in the company of same age group. Loneliness is the biggest problem of modern life style. Younger generation is too busy in their pursuits, job commitments &family. They are hardly free to spend time with older people. Perhaps due to this scenario of society, Government has opened these centers where they get entertainment through various activities and food also with nominal donation. 
2.      This Dulles South Senior Center in Virginia, unlike other centers is full of life &vigor. People of various nationalities come here. Staff of this Center is very cordial & welcoming. Persons, sitting on the front desk are always ready to help new comers. One of them accompanies the new person to show the activity rooms. 
3.   The center opens at 9 am. Two buses run to pic up & drop members from their houses. Pic up & drop is from door to door. Only one dollar is charged for this great service. It is so helpful for those who come from different countries & don't drive here. Tea -coffee some snacks are available in the morning for all. Veg-Non & Veg balanced food, with milk & fruits is served daily at 12 pm. Donation is optional for food.
4.     In the morning session Yoga, different types of dances are taught to keep fit the elderly persons. One can join these activities according to one’s interest & capability to do.
There is a game room where people can play many board games like Scrabble, Chess, Rummy Cube, Cards etc. Some times some outdoor games are also arranged for entertainment. 
5.     Many people of non-English speaking country find difficulty in communicating with others. For such people English reading & writing classes are run here. It is very beneficial for such people.  
6.                Main festivals of all communities are celebrated here along with American festivals. They respect the religious sentiments of all communities. Not only festivals, birthdays of all members are celebrated here once in a month together. As many as have their birthday in the same month are given special treatment on that day. Cake -ice cream is distributed to all. There are so many people whose birthday is never celebrated at their home so they are overwhelmed with this gesture. 
7.   Twice in a month bus is provided to go for shopping. Once in a month bus takes to any restaurant, who so ever wants to go. This facility helps a lot to those, who don't have conveyance but want to enjoy food of certain restaurants.
8.   If there is any medical emergency, they immediately call 911 to provide medical help. Doctors' talks are arranged on different topics for the awareness of the members. Once in a month health workers come for checking Blood Pressure. There is a gym for all to monitor their heart health.
9.     There is a library. Those who love reading can sit here & can read books of their choice.
10.          People of different nationalities are here but the number of Indian communities is very big. Indians celebrate all their festivals with great pomp & show. Through skits, dances, songs, poetry, fancy dress show, they exhibit the rich cultural heritage of India.
11.Not only at the time of festivals, in regular basis every Friday there is a program where anyone can show his or her talent. Those, who had never got an opportunity to show case their hidden talent, eagerly wait for Friday to show their talent.
12.    In short this is a home for elderly people with a beautiful lively environment which is cherished by all. Forgetting their ailments, sorrows, problems of family here everyone enjoys each moment of life. I wish that such kinds of Senior Centers could be opened in all countries.
