India conspiring to disintegrate Nepal: Embassy rebukes

२२ आइतबार , कार्तिक २०७२१० बर्ष अगाडि

The Indian Embassy that used to be engaged in micromanaging Nepali politics and bureaucracy is busy issuing statements deploring statements made against its country by Nepal’s republican leaders. Here is the latest.

The Embassy says that its attention has been drawn to certain comments about India made by Chitra Bahadur KC, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Poverty Alleviation, Government of Nepal, in an interview to the Himalaya TV on 6 November 2015.

The veteran communist leader with nationalist credentials claimed in the interview that India’s design is to split Tarai region and merge the Nepali territory in the Indian union.

In the statement says India’s Nepal mission, the Embassy condemns the comments made by Mr. Chitra Bahadur KC, which are completely baseless and provocative, aimed at vitiating the age-old historical, familial and civilizational ties between the people of India and Nepal.

The Embassy expects the Government of Nepal to distance itself from these comments.

India seeks peace, stability and prosperity for the people of Nepal. India has consistently supported the government and people of Nepal in their endeavours to make a peaceful, stable and prosperous Nepal and will continue to do so, also reads the statement.
