The statement however welcomes the decision of the government to give shape to a team for talks to hold parleys with the agitating Madhesh parties.
“India should assist Nepal carryout border trade without any hurdles. We would like to urge India help clear obstacles along the border,” the European Parliament statement continues.
The EU Parliament has for the first time expressed its concern over the India imposed blockade.
The statement has been issued by EU South Asia Division Chief Ms. Jean Lambert.
Expressing serious concern over the blockade, Lambert also says that whereas Nepal is still struggling to tackle the devastating earthquakes Nepal, the Nepali population has to face the economic blockade---which has already impacted livelihood of the general public and the country’s economic activities, reports Annapurna Post Daily.
