Press Statement of DPRK Vice Foreign Minister
Pyongyang, March 19 (KCNA) — Kim Son Gyong, vice-minister for International Organizations of the Foreign Ministry of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, issued the following press statement on Sunday:
The UN secretary-general made irresponsible remarks through his spokesperson taking issue once again with the DPRK’s exercise of its just right to self-defence on March 17.
I strongly denounce and categorically reject the behavior of the UN Secretary-General Guterres who is adding fuel to the flames, far from helping easing the tension in the Korean peninsula and the region.
I am once again convinced that the persistent prejudice of the UN secretary-general on the Korean peninsula issue is not simply attributable to the lack of understanding and recognition but might be an expression of his natural mentality of being subservient to the U.S. for no reason.
Instead of acting as befits the chief of the UN, Secretary-General Guterres have behaved like a snip of the U.S. Department of State.
I think it is good for defusing tension and for himself that the UN secretary general remains silent rather than meddling in the Korean peninsula issue as now.
If the UN secretary general continues to avail himself of the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK despite the repeated advice of the DPRK, he will leave an indelible stain on his political reputation.
Availing myself of this opportunity, I strongly warn the U.S. and its followers against their sinister attempts to bring the legitimate self-defensive countermeasures of the DPRK for the discussion of the UNSC. -0-

Press Statement of DPRK Permanent Mission to UN
Pyongyang, March 19 (KCNA) — The permanent mission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to the United Nations issued the following press statement on March 19:
Despite concern and objection of the international society aspiring to justice, the U.S. mobilized its followers and convened an unlawful ill-purpose meeting in the UN arena to discuss our non-existent “human rights issue”.
The Permanent Mission of the DPRK to the UN defines the U.S.-waged base “human rights” pressure campaign as the flagrant violation of and a serious challenge to the dignity and sovereignty of the DPRK, and resolutely denounces and rejects it.
What deserves to be called to account at the UNSC is the U.S. atrocity against humanity - its invasion of sovereign states and massacre of innocent civilians in wanton violation of the universally accepted international laws including the UN Charter.
With its shocking record of human rights violations, the U.S. has already earned an ill-fame in the international history as a “striking” human rights violator. That such a country takes issue with “human rights” situation of other countries is indeed a mockery of and an insult to human rights itself.
It is already a public knowledge within the international society that the U.S. advocacy of “human rights protection” is only a cover for its ignominious identity as the world’s worst human rights violator, an instrument for interference in the internal affairs of the independent sovereign states to invade them and overthrow their systems in the long run.
The U.S. launched a “human rights” campaign against the DPRK in the UN arena while staging the aggressive joint military exercise which poses a grave threat to our national security, and by doing so, it betrayed the fact that its “human rights” maneuver serves as a mechanism for invading the DPRK.
The UN should never be misused as a political means of the U.S. to blackmail and apply pressure on independent sovereign states of its dislike whenever it pleases.
To ensure genuine global peace and stability, and to promote human rights, the UN member states should categorically reject the politicization, discrimination and selectivity of human rights and also raise their voices of justice against the high-handedness and arbitrariness of the U.S. and its followers that are committed on the pretext of “human rights”.
The DPRK’s will is strong and clear. It will counter the illegal “human rights” campaign by the U.S. and its followers with the most powerful means.
The DPRK will make every effort to safeguard the socialist system, dear to our people as their own lives, and protect the genuine people’s rights against all hostile acts of the U.S. and its followers. -0-

Press Statement of Director General for Int’l Organizations of DPRK Foreign Ministry Issued
Pyongyang, March 19 (KCNA) — Jo Chol Su, director general of the Department of International Organizations of the Foreign Ministry of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, made public the following press statement on Sunday:
The U.S. representative to the UN dared find fault with the DPRK at the meeting of the UN Security Council held illegally on March 17.
This time Thomas Greenfield, unaware of genuine human rights and elementary human ethics, revealed her shameful nature utterly devoid of logic and sound thinking.
The U.S. has brought the non-existent “human rights issue” of the DPRK for the discussion of the UN Security Council despite the opposition and concern of the righteous international community. This is a defamation of the UN Charter and a mockery of genuine human rights.
If the U.S. is so worried about the “human rights situation” in the DPRK, it should explain why it is so obsessed with the implementation of the most unethical sanctions against the DPRK in the world.
As for human rights, the U.S. should strictly judged by the international community for its human rights abuses as it leaves tens of millions of the colored people under the police suppression.
It is the customary act of the U.S. to move to the “human rights” arena and try to shake the socialist system chosen by the Korean people once there is nothing to do.
The U.S. held a vile anti-DPRK human rights confab despite the repeated warnings of the DPRK, selecting high-handed practices instead of human rights, and war instead of peace.
The U.S. moves to shake the DPRK by means of “human rights” will only boost the resentment of the Korean people, and the U.S. will only get irreversible security instability from it.
Though it is not sure when this boring action will end, the U.S. is surly making a wrong attempt.
Thomas Greenfield will deplore her position as a stooge and servant of the U.S. which is engrossed in interference in the internal affairs of independent sovereign state under the veil of “defence of human rights”. -0-
