The DPRK Foreign Ministry released the following press statement on October 6:
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea strongly condemns the U.S. and some of its vassal forces for unwarrantedly bringing to the United Nations Security Council the just counteraction taken by the Korean People’s Army against south Korea-U.S. joint drills escalating the military tensions on the Korean peninsula.
We are watching closely the United States which is posing a serious threat to the stability of the situation on the Korean peninsula and its vicinity by dispatching again the carrier strike group to the waters off the Korean peninsula.
