The leaders of three major parties in their meeting held at Prime Minister’s residence, September 22, 2015 concluded that ‘India will not impose an economic blockade on Nepal but in the days ahead it will create problems in series.’

The Nepali Congress, United Marxist Leninist and Unified Maoists leaders who were present at the meeting had come to this conclusion.

The leaders opined that since entire world community has welcomed the constitution promulgating event in Nepal, situation prevailing in India itself- scheduled election in Bihar and considering prevailing world order, India will not impose an economic blockade on Nepal.

However, they were of the view that India could continue to create problems in Nepal by disrupting flow of necessary goods into Nepal such as petroleum products and food items.
