
The leaders of three major parties, Nepali Congress, United Marxist Leninist and Unified Maoists held a meeting to discuss he threat loaded statement made by India immediately after Nepal promulgated its constitution.
The Indian regime issuing a press statement, September 21, 2015 has expressed its deep concerns over incidents of violence in the bordering areas on the day Nepal promulgated the new constitution.
The statement, diplomatically speaking is a strong warning served to the Nepali political leadership reads, “We had repeatedly cautioned the political leadership of Nepal to take urgent steps to defuse the tension in these regions. This, if done in a timely manner, could have avoided these serious developments”.
After the three party meeting, Nepali Congress vice president Ram Chandra Poudel said, “We need to make things clear to the international community about the constitution. There is confusion among our friends abroad regarding our new constitution and we need to hold talks with disgruntled parties to resolve their dissatisfaction.”
The meeting was held at Prime Minister’s residence in Baluatar, September 223, 2015.
“The constitution has granted rights to each and every one of us. The agitation is being carried out as if they have not got anything.”
“We have to make things clear before them,” said Poudel.
The United Marxist Leninist vice chairman Bhim Rawal said, “We discussed the Indian statement in detail. Whether India has already stopped flow of goods into the Nepali territory through the border check points or not, this was also discussed at the meeting,” said Rawal.
Prime Minister Sushil, Nepali Congress leaders Sher Bahadur, Ram Chandra, Prakash Man Singh and Krishna Sitaula, UML chairman KP Oli and party leaders Bhim Rawal, Bam Dev Gautam, Bidya Devi Bhandari and Ishwar Pokharel and Unified Maosits Chairman Pushpa Kamal and party deputy Prakash Man Singh Shrestha were present in the meeting.
The Unified Maoists Party senior leader has been missing since yesterday. Rumours have it that Baburam is too unhappy with the constitution drafting event alike his mentors seated in the South block corridors.
