
The Indian Ambassador to Nepal Sri Ranjit Rai met with Chairman KP Sharma Oli of United Marxist Leninist and Chairman Puspa Kamal of Unified Maoists, Friday, September 11, 2015.
He first met with Chairman KP Oli at his private residence in Balkot, Bhaktapur where talks focused mainly on the ongoing Madhesi protest in districts bordering India. It is reported than Ranjit Rae asked KP Sharma Oli to bring the ongoing constitution drafting process to a temporary halt to hold talks with the agitating Madhesi parties.
Oli hinted Ranjit, reports confirm, “Halting the constitution drafting process will be fatal to the country.”
Reports Nagaik Daily further, “The Indian ambassador asked the party chairman to bring an end to the constitution drafting process that has entered its final stage.”
Ranjit stayed at Oli residence for over twenty five minutes.
He then rushed towards Dahal’s residence in Lazimpat, also reports Nagarik.
Dahal was at the Prime Minister’s residence holding talks with the leaders of Nepali Congress and United Marxist Leninist. When informed that the near to almighty had arrived at his residence, Dahal accompanied by party senior leader Baburam rushed to meet him.
Rai told Dahal that he was conveying the message of New Delhi government and that it wanted the three major parties to halt the constitution drafting process to hold talks with the agitating parties.
It is also reported by the media that Sri Rae had conveyed New Delhi’s message to Prime Minister Sushil Koirala early hours on Friday.
