Police men and protestors die in Nepal, situation tense

०७ सोमबार , भाद्र २०७२१० बर्ष अगाडि

The expected has now occurred in Nepal: police men were either burnt alive or brutally murdered by angry protestors in Tikapur of Kailali Distinct over their sheer dissatisfaction on the decision of political leaders seated in Kathmandu to delineate federal provinces that suited to their personal interest that the protestors claimed and it has also undermined their identity in their own homeland.

More than fifty people have been injured in the incident. Very sad and bad.Condolence.

Some among seven police men, five representing Nepal Police Force and two from Armed Police Force were killed due to injuries related to third degree burning and a two year old child was also killed in the stampede. Majority of protestors were carrying homemade weapons, confirm reports.

Including Senior Superintendent of Nepal Police Force Laxman Neupane was among the seven dead. Neupane was posted in the area for the last three days.

Protestors representing the indigenous Tharu Community had been peacefully demanding for a separate Tharuhat province for last few days except on Monday in Tikapur Ward no 2 when the angry mob-at least three thousand, turned suddenly violent to defy curfew order clamped by local administration.

The government is yet to fully provide details of total dead from the side of the protestors.

“The incident took place when angry protestors defied the curfew orders to enter the Tikapur city,” claimed Chief District Officer Ram Kumar Shrestha.

He also claimed that the government has decided to deploy Nepal Army to take the situation under control.

On the other hand, the Tharuhat Struggle Committee which is leading the protest in Kailali District in its statement has claimed that the incident took place only after the government to use force to tame peaceful protest.

The Constituent Assembly member Ram Janam Chaudhar representing Madhesi Forum headed by Bijaya Gacchedhar also claims that the sad incident took place as the police opened fire at the protestors.

“In a narrow alley the police opened fired at the protestors, which to some extent dispersed both the protestors and the police men. Thus the incident took place.”

Situation is tense still.
