It was one of the worst incidents in the entire history of the country, claims Dhani Ram Chaudhary ‘Tharu’ of Tharuhat Struggle Committee commenting on the Monday violence in Tikapur of Kailali distict where seven police men and an infant were killed. He adds, the incident took place only after the protestors fired at the peaceful protestors.

Tharu also heads the Tharu Welfare Committee.

It was an outcome of repressive action taken by the police force, CA member Ram Janam Chaudhary who was elected from constituency no 3 of Kailali district.

Both the Tharu leaders made their remarks talking to Nagarik National Daily.

Gopal Dahit of Tharuhat Tarai Party Nepal also claims that Police Force had blatantly fired bullets at the protestors. The police had entered public houses, also claims Dahit.

On the other hand Unified Maoists CA member Gauri Shankar Chaudhary elected from constituency no 4 of Kailali district claims that infiltration of miscreants in the peaceful protest might have triggered the incident.

“I am totally taken aback. How this could have happened? This is unimaginable. As far as I have been told by our cadres Tharu protestors were on their way to put their banners in of the government offices. As the police tried to stop them the incident took place.”

“I belong to the community. I am totally abreast of the soil and air in the area. They were the one who elected me. I am confident that they were outsiders who were engaged in the incident. There must have been serious infiltration.”
