Insiders in the United Marxist Leninist camp have it that the party is all set to replace Sushil Koirala headed government by its party chairman KP Sharma Oli led national unity government. While Oli leads the government, the party is preparing to handover the party chairmanship to Madhav Kumar Nepal.

Nepal will be acting chairman of the party, insiders have it.

“Utmost within two weeks the country will see KP Oli leading the national unity government,” claim UML insiders.

“Talks continue between parties to give shape to a national unity government but even if it fails Oli in all likelihood will replace Koirala to head a majority government,” the source adds further.

Talks continue within the party top leadership to plan interim setup i.e. while existing chairman heads the government, role of the party leadership in all likelihood will go to Madhav Kumar Nepal. Senior Leader Jhalnath, Vice Chairman Bam Dev and General Secretary Ishwar Pokharel too have given their nod to the interim setup proposed by Chairman Oli himself.

The Chairman has played quite a positive role to get rid of confusion prevailing in the Unified Maoists (main opposition) and senior leader Madhav Nepal is also engaged in talks with the Nepali Congress leaders including Prime Minister Sushil Koirala and senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba.
