The newly appointed Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Kripasur Rai claims that the international media is spreading false information about Nepal’s tourism industry. “We are kicking and alive. Tourism industry in Nepal is not totally destroyed. Some of our cultural sites have been damaged by the earthquakes. The media should spread positive message about our tourism industry.”

“It is not the task of governmental, non-governmental organizations and media sector to play positive role in spreading the true message.”

“Nepal is still one of the world’s best tourist destination,” he said and added, “The damaged section of our industry could be resurrected in no time. The reconstitution will soon take its full speed.”

He made the remark talking to a press interaction program organized by Tourism Journalist Association of Nepal, Saturday May 24, 2015.
