US Warns Visa Holders: Break Rules, Face Deportation

The United States Embassy in India announced on July 12 that visa holders who violate American laws or immigration regulations will face deportation, part of intensified enforcement measures under the Donald Trump administration.

“US visa screening does not stop after a visa is issued,” the embassy warned in a statement posted on social media platform X. “We continuously check visa holders to ensure they follow all US laws and immigration rules — and we will revoke their visas and deport them if they don’t.”

This firm advisory from the U.S. comes amidst a broader crackdown on immigration. The embassy previously cautioned that individuals entering the U.S. illegally would face jail time and deportation, with violators of immigration laws potentially subject to detention, removal, and future visa bars. These stringent measures reflect the Trump administration’s ongoing efforts to curb illegal immigration and ensure compliance with U.S. statutes. Indians are among the top three violators.
