The Unified Maoists Party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has made it clear that his party is not interested in leading a majority government.
“There is the need to give shape to a national unity government. The Nepali Congress has asked us to lead such a government. But, not all the parties are ready. Our point is clear in such a scenario that we are not interested in giving shape to a majority government”.
Addressing a program in Kathmandu organized to celebrate 198th birth anniversary of Karl Marx Dahal had made the remark.
“I would like to thank the Nepali Congress for making an offer to us but, we are not interested in leading a government of majority,” he said.
“Promulgating the new constitution had been very difficult. I see that implementing it is going to be even more difficult. I fear if the constitution turn useless”, he said.
“To put the constitution into practice, to complete the reconstruction and for the overall prosperity of the country a national unity government is a must”, he concluded.
