India as important component of Global South should recall its role, 70 years ago, when together with Pakistan, Indonesia & China, India was a driver of first Afro-Asian conference at Bandung in April 1955! Such humiliation is unbecoming of India’s dignity: better to be for India to be on Right Side of History as part of emerging ‘Asian Century’, rather than being America’s  ‘frontman against China’, which, in any case, is a tried, tested & failed formula!

When US sends back Indian illegal migrants handcuffed (including women & minors) throughout the flight in military aircraft - it says three things:
1. In Trump's second term, it will be about America building it's national power- with India's role as US' sidekick in Indian Ocean region against China no longer a priority.
2. Trump is piqued at Modi coming to US in 2024, but not attending his election rally where he had announced his friend Modi would come. Trump takes personal insults seriously 
3. Trump knows that for all

bombast on India's strategic autonomy in foreign policy, Modi is hugely dependent on US support to help project his image as a world leader. 
Sadly, India will still go ahead with Modi visit to US for 'personal connection' with Trump. No self respecting nation would bear Trump's tantrums & insult. 
After all this,  #Jaishankar has gumption to say that India is competing with China.
I feel sorry for my nation!
