Kim Jong Un Provides Field Guidance to Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station No. 3

Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, provided field guidance to the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station No. 3 successfully completed as a gift of loyalty which young people, masters of the youth power, presented to the 7th Congress of the WPK.

He shook hands with commanding officers one by one, praising them for having done a lot of work.

Our reliable young people of Mt. Paektu have completed the project in the run-up to the congress of the party, thus carrying out the order given by me four months ahead of schedule, he said, adding that another fresh legendary tale about youth was created in the wake of last year in the land of Mt. Paektu where the Juche revolution started.

He looked round the Exhibition of the Paektusan Hero Young People's Feats.

Looking at exhibits one by one there, he said that merely watching the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station brings the image of leader Kim Jong Il to my mind. The completion of the power station No. 3 made it possible to implement his behest, he stressed.

He noted with deep emotion that what pleased him was the appearance of young people as heroes of the times and giants who performed heroic feats as desired by Kim Jong Il rather than the creation of the capability to solve the problem of electricity in Samjiyon County.

In order to know how great the WPK's idea of attaching importance to the youth is and how rosy the future of the youth power is, everybody should visit the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station, he said, emphasizing that the power station is not only an electricity-generating base but also a center for education eloquently proving the validity and vitality of the party's idea of attaching importance to the youth and in what perseverance our young people created the fresh spirit of the times.

Saying that a huge man-made lake appeared in the land of Mt. Paektu after the construction of the dam of the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station No. 1, he named the lake the "Paektu Hero Youth Lake".

He went round the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station No. 3.

By completing the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Stations Nos. 1, 2 and 3 in a matter of a year, the iron fists of the heroic youth which have grown strong under the loving care of the party hit hard the heads of the U.S. imperialists and their followers hell-bent on their moves to ratchet up sanctions against the DPRK and stifle it on the principle of self-reliance and self-development.

The revolutionary soldier spirit and Kanggye spirit were created in the period of the Arduous March, forced march and the Paektusan hero youth spirit was done in the present difficult period, a clear proof of the just leadership of the great leaders and the WPK that trained young people as reserves, advancing group and wing of the party as required by the developing revolution assuming protracted nature from the very day the party was founded, he noted.

The completion of the power station proved once again that party's determination precisely means a reality and practice, young Koreans are creditably playing a vanguard role in translating the party's determination into reality and their strength is inexhaustible, indeed, he said, adding that he felt irrepressible urge to meet all of them and they did a lot of work. He requested the commanding officers to convey his wish for their good health to them.

He gave an instruction to hold with splendor a ceremony of commissioning the power station to strikingly demonstrate the indomitable mental power and spirit of young Koreans. He gave on the spot an instruction related to the ceremony and personally assigned a new militant duty to be fulfilled by the Paektusan Hero Youth Shock Brigade.

S. Korean Puppet Group Accused of Moves to Set Fire to Forests of DPRK

A spokesman for the Ministry of Land and Environment Protection of the DPRK issued a statement on Thursday denouncing the south Korean puppet group for unhesitatingly letting fly balloons for causing fire to the forest area of the DPRK as a desperate campaign against it.

Balloons containing inflammable materials, timers and electric detonating devices were recently discovered in Mt. Kumgang area including Namae-ri and Onjong-ri, Kosong County, Kangwon Province and in Hanwol-ri, Anak County, South Hwanghae Province.

According to the investigation made by a competent institution of the DPRK, it has been confirmed that these balloons designed to cause fire at any place at the preset time were sent by the puppet group into the areas of the DPRK.

The statement said this proves that the Park Geun Hye group of traitors keen on escalating confrontation with the fellow countrymen is working hard to impose huge material damage and environmental disaster upon the DPRK by causing fire, not content with scattering anti-DPRK leaflets.

It went on:

The above-said moves are very hideous provocation and crime of the puppet group to disturb the forest restoration campaign now under way as the nationwide, all-people campaign and the building of a thriving nation in the DPRK.

All the successive south Korean puppet rulers have behaved mischievously, hell-bent on confrontation with the fellow countrymen in the north and but there have been no such depraved guys as the Park Geun Hye group who are working so hard to cause even a fire in the land of the nation in peacetime.

Such criminal act is touching off bitter indignation and hatred among the service personnel and people of the DPRK.

If the Park group persists in the above-said provocations, it will face strong corresponding counteraction of the DPRK.

National Chauvinist Campaign of Right-wing Reactionary Forces of Japan

against Koreans Slammed

A spokesman for the DPRK Foreign Ministry in a statement on Thursday lashed out at the right-wing reactionary forces of Japan for conducting a national chauvinist campaign against Koreans in Japan after a large quake occurred in Kumamoto area, Kyushu, Japan recently.

A nonsensical article which claims that Koreans poisoned wells was posted on websites and rumors inciting such extreme national antipathy and repugnancy that Kumamoto should beware of possible uprising by Koreans are afloat, the statement noted, and continued:

This is an unpardonable mockery and undisguised hostile act against the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) and the DPRK as it proves that the departed soul of Japanese militarism which imposed colonial slavery upon the Korean nation and brought all sorts of misfortunes to it in the past is still haunting.

The reckless campaign of the Japanese right-wing reactionaries against Chongryon and Koreans in Japan is a direct product of the Abe regime's madcap hostile policy toward the DPRK as it was prompted by the ceaseless inveterate moves of the Japanese government against the DPRK and Chongryon.

The Japanese authorities should stop at once the base and despicable campaign against the DPRK and Chongryon and discontinue acts of conniving and fostering the encroachment upon the dignity and human rights of the Koreans in Japan.

If Japan pays no heed to our warning, it will be wholly responsible for all ensuing grave consequences.

U.S. Efforts to Realize Asia-Pacific Strategy with Financial Help of Allies Derided

Pyongyang, April 20 (KCNA) -- The Wall Street Journal recently disclosed the following data:

Every year the U.S. imposes on Japan and the south Korean puppet forces tens of billions of U.S. dollars needed for the upkeep of its forces and building of its new military bases.

Until 2017 south Korea has to cover 93 percent of the total funds for the expansion of Phyongthaek base for the U.S. forces while Japan 94 percent of the total funds for the construction of U.S. marines air force base in Iwakuni, Japan and 12 billion U.S. dollars all of which is required for the transfer of Futenma military base in Okinawa. The U.S. even forced Japan and south Korea to bear the cost for the construction of large-scale U.S. forces military base on Guam and in other areas in the Asia-Pacific region.
Commenting on this, Rodong Sinmun Wednesday says that the U.S. is justifying its arms buildup as the one for protecting its mainland and its allies while spreading the story of "threats" from someone, but this is nothing but a pretext.

The U.S. seeks to realize its strategy for dominating Asia-Pacific by emptying the money bags of its war servants and henchmen, the commentary notes, and goes on:
The impacts several big powers in Northeast Asia have on economy and military are now spreading to other regions, to say nothing of the Asia-Pacific region. In contrast, the sphere of U.S. economic and military domination is getting narrower. he U.S. is now compelled to cut down military spending as consequences of squandering a stupendous amount of funds for the aggression and war in the past.
It is making desperate efforts to keep its position as the "world's only superpower" in the Asia-Pacific region, but it is too late. Now it has no other option but to reach out its hand to its war servants for help. This is just the last ditch wriggling of the U.S. before falling down into the abyss of ruin. Also miserable is the position of Japan and the south Korean puppet forces working hard to prolong their remaining days by clinging to the coattails of the U.S.
