“Sher Bhadur Deuba is now the Prime Minister,” so claimed Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal of Unified Maoists Party addressing a program in the district of Dolakha. He later apologized for having addressed Sher Bahadur as the prime minister. Nonetheless, media reports claim it as an indication towards possible change in the government.

He added, “While the country is undergoing a fluid situation and India too has not fully welcomed our constitution. And thus we need to give shape to an all-party government.”

Dahal also claimed that since the Nepali Congress general convention has ended there is the need to give shape to a government participated in by the Nepali Congress Party. He did not however said who should lead the government.
