On 13 June 2024, the Embassyof Pakistan organized second Alumni gathering for Nepali Army officers trained in various institutions of Pakistan Armed Forces. A good number of serving and retired Nepali Army officers attended the event. General (R) Gaurav SJB Rana, Former Chief of Army Staff Nepali Army, was the chief guest and Air Chief Marshal (R) Sudarshana Pathirana, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Nepal attended the event as a special guest being alumni of Pakistan Air Force Academy.

On June 13, 2024, Embassy of Pakistan organized second Alumni gathering for Nepali Army officers trained in various institutions of Pakistan Armed Forces. Air Chief Marshal (R) Sudarshana Pathirana, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Nepal attended the event as a special guest being alumni of Pakistan Air Force Academy. In his welcoming remarks, Col Muhammad Ali Alvi, Defence Attaché, Embassy of Pakistan traced history and highlighted the vibrant bilateral relations between the Armed Forces of Nepal and Pakistan, especially in training domain. He underscored continued support by Pakistan Armed Forces for capacity building of Nepali Army.
General (R) Gaurav SJB Rana recalled experiences of his stint in Pakistan and their relevance to his own rise in leading Nepali Army. He said that training of Nepali Army officers, soldiers and capacity building of Nepal Army has tremendous value for the institution and individuals. Maj Gen Babu Ram Shrestha, senior most serving Nepal Army officer and alumni of NDU Islamabad, speaking at the occasion, conveyed best greetings on behalf of COAS Nepal Army. He thanked Pakistan for providing opportunities to Nepal Army officers/ soldiers both in acquiring contemporary skills and filling gaps in capacity of the Army.
Ambassador Abrar H. Hashmi in his concluding remarks said that Pakistan and Nepal have strong relations based on trust and mutually beneficial collaborations between the people, governments and armed forces. He paid gratitude to former COAS Guarav Rana and senior officers for attending second inaugural alumni event.
Participants of the alumni gathering expressed their gratitude to Pakistan and its Mission in organizing the event and providing them a platform to relive fond memories of their stay in Pakistan.
