This event, held to honor the 60th anniversary of the esteemed leader Comrade KIM JONG IL's pivotal initiation of work within the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, stands as a testament to the enduring bonds between Nepal and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
Under the joint auspices of the Communist Party of Nepal (Marxist-Leninist), the Nepal-Korea Friendship Association, and the Nepal Journalists’ Association, this gathering convened prominent figures including former Deputy Prime Minister of Nepal, Comrade C. P. Mainali, who presided over the program with grace and distinction.
A moment of solemn reflection marked by a minute of silence paid honor to the indelible legacies of the great leaders President KIM IL SUNG and Comrade KIM JONG IL, underscoring the profound reverence and respect accorded to their visionary leadership.
Throughout the proceedings, luminaries such as Standing Committee Members of the CPN (M.L.) and other esteemed personalities, articulated profound insights into Comrade KIM JONG IL's enduring contributions. Mr. PR Pant, General Secretary of the Nepal-Korea Friendship Association, eloquently underscored Comrade KIM JONG IL's instrumental role in fortifying the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), ensuring its continuity and strength under the stewardship of His Excellency KIM JONG UN. Highlighting achievements such as pioneering advancements in defense capabilities rooted in the Juche ideology and the Army-first policy, Pant encapsulated the essence of Comrade KIM JONG IL's immortal legacy.
In a heartfelt address, Comrade Kumar Belbase, the Standing Committee Member of the CPN (M.L.), lauded Comrade KIM JONG IL's unwavering commitment to the principles of self-reliance and the Songun policy, which served as pillars for the DPRK's economic and defense prowess, leaving an indelible mark on history.
Similarly, Comrade Madhu B.C., Secretariat Member of the Communist Party of Nepal (United), lamented the closure of the DPRK embassy in Nepal, emphasizing the importance of fostering deep-rooted ties anchored in mutual understanding and ideological solidarity.
Mr. Chirag Man Singh Kunwar, representing the National Democratic Party and the National Democratic Confederation of Nepalese Trade Union, reiterated the shared aspirations for national sovereignty and self-determination, echoing the sentiments of a burgeoning nationalist movement inspired by the legacies of President KIM IL SUNG and Comrade KIM JONG IL. Manju Ratna Shykya also participated.
