The government of China has come up with a new proposal to construct a ‘China Town’ in Kathmandu---that could expectedly shake the heart of the Indian rulers seated in New Delhi. The cost of the project according to reports is going to be NPR 50 Billion.

In addition, in two years the project will be completed.

The Shenzhen Regional Economic Cooperation Association, China has forwarded the proposal to Kathmandu Municipal Corporation (KMC), reports Nagarik National Daily and the report adds further, the project site will be some fifteen kilometers away from the city center.

The objective is to transform Kathmandu into an industrial city and Nepali youth currently working in Arab countries could be accommodated right within the newly built city.

“China is requesting us to provide the site location. We are confused yet whether the decision needs to be taken by the KMC or it needs approval from higher authority”, said KMC in charge Rudra Prasad Tamang.

“The China town will be equipped with commercial centers, residential area, hotels and restaurants, hospitals and orphanage”, reports Nagarik further.
