
The Nepal Communist Party Maoist headed by Netra Bikram Chanda ‘Bilpav’ has announced revival of ‘Unified Revolutionary Peoples’ Council’ -parallel government setup, in the district of Lamjung. The party had revived the parallel setup in the district of Sindhupalchowk last week.
The Netra Bikram Chanda ‘Biplav’-led CPN Maoist, a breakaway faction of the UCPN (Maoist) headed by Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
Before the party split Biplav was considered as one of the influential leaders in the party and was closer to the faction headed by Chairman Dahal.
Ms. Sabitri Dura- the party central committee member at a program held in Dhogeni-5, Kirtipur, Lamjung had declared revival of Unified Revolutionary Peoples’ Council’
“Throughout the country the party will revive the parallel setup as the government setup in Kathmandu is the agent of foreigners and is totally nonchalant towards peoples’ plight,” she said.
The meeting also decided to appoint Bil Bahadur Gurung as the head of the nine member Lamjung district Peoples’ Council. Similarly a 99 member revolutionary parliament has also been founded headed by Narayan Kunwar.
