Nepal’s erstwhile King Gyanendra Shah in his message delivered on the occasion of national unity day, Poush 27(January 11, 2016)- birth anniversary of Great King Prithivi Narayan Shah, has made it clear to the ‘proven failed’ political parties of Nepal that he is fully aware of his responsibilities towards the nation and that he is still ‘kicking and alive’.

But when dark chamber player?

On whose backing Shah dared to threaten the all-powerful political parties is a mystery?

Munna Bahi?

In saying so the former King hinted that he may have been sidelined from politics but he is still capable of making contribution to the country and the countrymen.

What is stopping him from making ‘contributions’ is also a mystery?

Decaying age factor?

“I have handed over the throne to the public for the benefit of the nation, for peace, prosperity and for their satisfaction,” he says in his statement and adds, “I have abandoned the throne but I am still in the country, I have not abandoned my responsibilities towards the nation.”

King Gyanendra also criticizes the present state of political order in the county and adds, “The public need to be clear on what role and responsibility they seek from whom.”

He adds further, “While communal harmony is in serious disarray, the general public is suffering from severe economic crisis, inflation, shortage of essential goods, unproductivity and foreign dependency. The general public is finding it difficult to manage two meals a day and to live a normal life.”
