Kathmandu, January 21:
Nepal-Korea Friendship Association today held its meeting under its Chairman Comrade C.P. Mainali, General Secretary of CPN ML and Former Deputy Prime Minister of Nepal, and has decided to declare "Nepal National Preparatory Committee to Commemorate the Sun's Day and the Day of the Shining Star, the Birth Anniversary of respected President KIM IL SUNG and Comrade KIM JONG Il.
The Nepal National Preparatory Committee shall organize celebration functions, and seminars to mark these historical occasions and conduct activities aimed at highlighting the life and immortal achievements made by Respected President KIM IL SUNG and Comrade KIM JONG IL.
The meeting has also decided to approach and request the leaders and dignitaries of Nepal who directly met President KIM IL SUNG and were influenced by His great personality and remember Him for HIs immortal contributions and write their memories.

February 16, Juche 113 (2024) marks the 82ndth Birth Anniversary of Comrade KIM JONG IL, a great leader and the Shining Star of the Korean people.
April 15 is another historically significant day for the Korean people as well as for the entire Progressive and peace-loving people around the world and this year they shall be celebrating it as the “Day of the Sun’” as it happens to be the 112th Birth Anniversary of respected President KIM IL SUNG.
President KIM IL SUNG, the outstanding leader of the Korean people led the Korean Revolution for about 70 years along the road of independence and carried out great socio-economic changes, thus opening up a shining chapter in the history of the liberation struggle of mankind and winning boundless respect and trust from the progressive people of the world over.
Born on Mt. Paektu, the sacred Mountain of the Korean Revolution leader KIM JONG IL grew up in the flames of the anti-Japanese war and worked with the great leader President KIM IL SUNG for many years as his greatest Comrade-in-arms and most faithful assistant in advancing the revolution and construction and carried forward Juche idea and Songun policy to secure the dignity and sovereignty of DPR Korea.
The Korean people observe these two occasions as the nation's greatest holidays while the world’s people, who advocate peace, justice, independence, dignity, and democracy also celebrate them as great occasions.
To celebrate these two happy occasions of our trusted friendly country, appropriately, we are pleased to announce the formation of a 15-member “Nepal National Preparatory Committee to Commemorate the "Sun’s Day and the Day of the Shining Star” under the Chairmanship of Comrade C.P. Mainali, Chairman of Nepal-Korea Friendship Association, General Secretary of Communist Party of Nepal (Marxist-Leninist) and Former Deputy Prime Minister of Nepal with prominent figures from friendship and people’s organizations dedicated to strengthening the friendship between Nepal and Korea as its members.
