Conflicting views aired by Nepal agitating leaders

२८ सोमबार , मंसिर २०७२१० बर्ष अगाडि

Whereas Upendra Yadav and Mahanta Thakur stand in favor of finding immediate solution to end the protracted political stalemate which is the result of agitation led by Madhesi alliance targeting the border trade points, Rajendra Mahato and Mahendra Rai Yadav want no flexibility on the part of the alliance to end the dispute. Rather Mahato and Mahendra Rai Yadav are in favor of further tightening the border to ensure that the government bows down to their demands.

Upendra, Mahanta, Rajendra and Mahendra are four top leaders of the agitating Madhesi parties.

Chairman Upendra Yadav of Federal Socialist Forum Nepal and Chairman Mahanta Thakur of Tarai Madhesh Loktantrik Party are in favor of forging an agreement with the government –if it comes forward with a clear framework to address their demands. The two leaders also accept that prolonged closure of border trade points has jeopardized the national economy and thus a temporary solution could be found to end the dispute.

“We are ready to withdraw our protest along the border”, says general secretary Sarbendra Nath Shukla of Tarai Madhesh Loktantrik Party and adds, “The government needs to first come up with a clear framework to address our demands.”

Chairman Rajendra Mahato of Sadvawana Party and Chairman Mahendra Rai Yadav of Tarai Madhesh Sadvawana Party on the other hand do not favor mere assurance from the government. The two leaders want their demands addressed in full and in a package, reports confirm. They are also not in favor of leaving the border points without getting their demands addressed.
