Eternal Leader of the DPRK

The DPRK people express their high respects and reverences towards President Kim Il Sung (1912-1994) as their eternal leader and father of socialist Korea and the world progressive people are praising him as the most outstanding political veteran of the 20th century.
Kim Il Sung, born to a poor peasant family in the early days of the Japanese military occupation of Korea (1905-1945), devoted his whole life to achieving the freedom and happiness of the people. When he was a primary school student, he wrote a composition, titled Patriotism. In it, he wrote: while a man lives, he does many things; among those, the most valuable is to serve his country and his fellow people; from olden times, it is said that a ruined nation is no better than animals; so it is our honour and duty to build a country and serve the people.
This was a resolute determination he made before his country and nation.  True to his determination, he set out his teens on the road of struggle to liberate his country.
In the early days of his revolutionary struggle, he authored the Juche idea illuminating the road ahead for shaping the desitiny of the country and nation. By applying this idea to his leadership spanning scores of year, he demonstrated the truthfulness and vitality and ensured that the idea became great idea, precious mental wealth common to mankind, in the struggle to achieve the independence of the masses of the people.
Kim Il Sung was an artist of leadership never witnessed in history before.
He formed the Down-with-Imperialism Union in his teens, declaring a struggle to overthrow all forms of imperialism across the world as well as Japanese imperialism. On April 25, 1932, he founded the Anti-Japanese People’s Guerrilla Army (predecessor of the present Korean People’s Army) and, without any backing of a state nor support of a regular army, waged bloody guerrilla warfare against the Japanese imperialists, self-styled leader of Asia, liberating the country on August 15, 1945. in the complicated situation that prevailed after liberation, he founded the Workers’ Party of Korea (October 10, 1945), the headquarters of the Korean revolution, without delay and the  democracy in the East. When the US-led imperialist allied forces committed an armed aggression to stamp out the DPRK in its cradle in the beginning of the 1950s, he roused the service personnel and people in the struggle to defeat the aggressors, defending the sovereignty and dignity of the country with honour.
After the war the US claimed that the DPRK would not rise on its feet again in 100 years, but it finished postwar reconstruction in less than three years, and launched socialist revolution under his wise leadership. Then it achieved industrialization in a short span of 14 years, developing into a socialist state which is independent, self-sufficient and self-reliant in defence.
He ensured that a unique socialist system centred on the masses, in which people are the masters of everything and everything serves them, was established, so that the masses can live in harmony enjoying the benefits of universal free medical care and the highest level of compulsory free education in the tax-free country.
Socialism built in the DPRK remained unperturbed even when the global socialist system collapsed and the Cold War between the East and the West turned into a confrontation between the DPRK and the US.  Kim Il Sung was a great father of the people who, cherishing his lifertime motto, “The people are my God,” devoted his all to achieving the wellbeing of the people.
Rain or shine, he was on the road for the people.
For him, the masses were his dear sons and daughters. For thses countless children, he worked day and night, on Sundays, holidays and even on his birth anniversary days.
Once an official advised him not to go over documents while taking a meal. He answered that if he worked a lot by winning time, the country would become prosperous and the people would live happily. During a talk with a foreign statesman he said; Some foreign reporters ask me how I could deal with state affairs as I spend days visiting factories and farms; I said to them that my visiting factories and farms is just dealing with state affiairs.
He visited farms even in the last days of his life.
He gave on-the-spot guidance at over 20 600 units, covering a total distance of over 578 000km, 14.5 times of the distance round the earth.   As he was among the people all his life, the people of the DPRK regard his ideology and philosophy as their soul and banner.  It is by no means accident that he is respected as the eternal President of the DPRK after death.
It is an unshakable faith and will of all the Korean people to hold up Kim Il Sung as their eternal leader and advance invariably along the road of independence and socialism pioneered by him.
