AFTER the announcement of death sentence to Indian spymaster, Kulbhushan Yadav by the Military Court of Pakistan Army, the Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj cautioned Pakistan for the consequences. In her statement she said, “I would caution the Pakistani govt to consider consequences for our bilateral relationship if they proceed on this matter.” She also assured the Indian parliamentarians that, Indian Govt would go ‘all out’ to save Indian spy who has been running RAW terrorist network in Pakistan being a serving Indian Naval officer.
Ms Swaraj also declared Jadhav as the ‘son of India’ and astonishingly said that Kulbhushan has done nothing wrong and there is no evidence against him, as if he was on a tourist visa to Balochistan. She also said that, “This is an act of premeditated murder.” Besides, another influential Indian Parliamentarian of ruling BJP, Subramanian Swamy has emphasized Indian Government to recognise Balochistan as an independent country in case Pakistan executes the Indian spy. What a juvenile thinking by the Indian leadership. During the precedings of the case, Kulbhushan Yadav has confessed before a magistrate and the Military court that “he was tasked by Indian spy agency Research and Analysis wing to plan, coordinate and organise espionage and sabotage activities seeking to destabilise and wage war against Pakistan through impeding the efforts of law enforcement agencies for the restoration of peace in Balochistan and Karachi.” He was tried by the Military court through Field Gen Court Martial (FGCM) under Section 59 of PAA and Section 3 of the Official Secret Act of 1923. As he was provided a defence council to fulfil legal requirement. Yet he has sufficient time to appeal against verdict.
On its part, India has sponsored terrorism and destabilized almost all its South Asian neighbours. It has promoted and sponsored LTTE in Sri Lanka, Moist in Maldives, Mukti Bahanis in former East Pakistan, and so many others networks in other countries of South Asia. Theses terrorist activities were sponsored by India through its infamous spying network, the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). The sole objective of creation of RAW in 1968 was to have a spying network, which destabilizes the Indian neighbourhood through terrorist activities and maintain Indian dominance and supremacy over them. In a way, India had thought of its dominant role in the region through terrorist activities right after a decade of its independence. Apart from unearthing the terrorist network after arrest of Kulbashan Yadav, Pakistan had the evidences of Indian state sponsored terrorism for decades. In the past, Pakistan also presented the proofs of Indian terrorism to UN, US and even shared the information with all friendly countries. However, the influential countries of the world had their economic and political stakes in India, thus gave less attention to Pakistani proofs. After the arrest of this spy, Pakistan has approached and appraised the US, EU and UN about the Indian terrorism and terrorist network in Pakistan. It was responsibility of the UN and the major powers must take a serious note of Indian terrorist activities in Pakistan and other South Asian countries. These Indian activities in fact are anti-thesis of the global campaign against terrorism.
While analysing the terror sponsoring by India, one would learn that, India has a very refined and well-established mechanism. Indian RAW plan and execute all its activities in Pakistan through a third country. In the context of Pakistan, India has been making use of Afghan soil for promoting extremism and terrorism since 2002. The TTP and many other so-called religious organizations were on the direct payroll of RAW. These organizations are involved in many terrorist activities all over Pakistan. Similarly, the Iranian soil has been used for promotion of sub-nationalism in Balochistan. After having known Indian terrorist activities, Iran has distanced itself from India. Afghan soil, however is continuously being used against Pakistan.
These statements from very senior members of Indian parliament and reaction from Indian officials and mainstream media shows Indian mind-set about its spying network, involved in the promotion and sponsoring of terrorism in its neighbourhood. Besides, these Indian indirect warnings are also indicative of the fact that the activities of RAW against Pakistan are supported by Indian society, its media, politicians, all political parties and the Indian Government. This also shows that the terrorism is entrenched in the Indian society as its essential component. With terrorism as its weapon to weaken and destabilise the neighbourhood, should there be an excuse with New Delhi to accuse Pakistan for sponsoring the terrorism?
In order to maintain a strong deterrence against terrorism, it is essential that in the case of Kulbhushan Yadav, Pakistani authorities must implement the verdict of the Military Court after completing the legal aspects. Any leniency or compromise on any account will encourage the foreign spying networks, especially RAW and NDS to continue sponsoring terrorism in Pakistan. Let there be no exception and Pakistani national interests must be upheld.
